Product Overview

DOWSIL™ SYLGARD™ 170 Silicone Elastomer Black is a 2-part (1:1 mix ratio), low-viscosity silicone encapsulation and potting compound formulated for general electrical and electronic protection against moisture, environmental contaminants, and mechanical stress. Utilizing an addition-cure chemistry, it cures at room temperature or can be heat-accelerated with zero cure byproducts or volumetric shrinkage. Recognized with a UL 94 V-0 flame rating, its excellent flowability allows easy penetration into complex geometries. The bulk 400 KG drum kit (200 KG Part A + 200 KG Part B) is designed for continuous, high-volume automated manufacturing lines.

Usage Note: Thoroughly mix Part A and Part B in a 1:1 ratio. Vacuum de-airing (degassing) prior to pouring is recommended to remove trapped air bubbles. Avoid contact with sulfur, amines, phosphorus, or organometallic compounds to prevent platinum catalyst cure inhibition. Fully compatible with industrial drum pumps and automated meter-mix dispensing systems.
