DOWSIL™ Q3-1566 Heat Resistant Adhesive/Sealant 310 ML
Product Overview
DOWSIL™ Q3-1566 Heat Resistant Adhesive/Sealant is a 1-part, non-slump RTV silicone adhesive specifically formulated for extreme high-temperature applications. It cures at room temperature upon exposure to atmospheric moisture to form a tough, flexible rubber seal capable of withstanding continuous temperatures up to +275°C (+527°F) and intermittent peaks up to +300°C (+572°F). It delivers outstanding primerless adhesion to glass, metals, ceramics, and engineering substrates. The 310 ml cartridge offers convenient manual or pneumatic dispensing.
Key Features and Benefits
• Exceptional Heat Resistance: Maintains elasticity under continuous temperatures up to +275°C and short peaks up to +300°C.
• Unprimed Adhesion: Excellent primerless bonding to glass, cast metals, aluminum, steel, and ceramics.
• Non-Slump Paste: Suitable for vertical and overhead joint applications without sag or slumping.
• High Mechanical Resilience: Resists thermal cycling, vibration, and physical movement without loss of bond.
• Weather and Chemical Stability: High resistance to UV exposure, moisture, ozone, and hot gases.
Technical Specifications
• Color: Black / Reddish Black (Dark Tone)
• Packaging / Volume: Cartridge / 310 ml
• Cure System: Acetoxy (RTV)
• Skin-Over Time (@ 23°C, 50% RH): ~10-20 Minutes
• Tensile Strength: ~2.5 MPa
• Hardness (Shore A): ~35-40
• Service Temperature Range: -50°C to +275°C (-58°F to +527°F), peaks up to +300°C (+572°F)
Applications
• Elastic bonding of oven doors, glass panels, and drying equipment in industrial appliances.
• Sealing flue ducts, boilers, chimney connections, and hot gas piping.
• Formed-in-place gaskets (FIPG) for heating elements, thermal processing equipment, and engine parts.
• Automotive and industrial assemblies subject to severe thermal cycling and high heat exposure.
Usage Note: Ensure all bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease or contaminants prior to application. Dispense easily using standard manual or pneumatic caulking guns. Ensure adequate ventilation during moisture cure.
