DOWSIL™ 1-2620 Dispersion Conformal Coating (3.6 kg) – Transparent Silicone Resin Coating
Product Description
DOWSIL™ 1-2620 Dispersion is a one-part, transparent, low-viscosity elastoplastic silicone conformal coating designed to protect printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies from moisture, corrosion, chemical contamination, and mechanical abrasion. It cures to a tough, resilient, and slick surface.
Key Features
• Low Viscosity: 150 cP / mPa·s (Allows excellent flow into narrow spaces and component gaps)
• Cure Type: One-part room temperature moisture cure (RTV) with optional mild heat acceleration
• Hardness: 80 Shore A (Tough, abrasion-resistant elastoplastic finish)
• UV Indicator: Contains UV fluorescent dye for automated optical inspection (AOI)
• Dielectric Strength: ~22 kV/mm (550 V/mil)
• Standards & Recognized Approvals: UL 94 V-0, IPC-CC-830B, and MIL-I-46058C recognized
• Temperature Range: Wide operating range from -45°C to +200°C
Applications
• Environmental protection of rigid and flexible Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCB / PCBA)
• Automotive, aerospace, and defense electronics assemblies
• Sensitive sensor modules, relays, and industrial control electronics
• Applied via spray, dip, brush, or automated selective pattern coating
Key Advantages
• 3.6 kg pail packaging ideal for mid to high-volume manufacturing and maintenance operations
• Low viscosity ensures complete coverage around complex geometries and tight component leads
• Excellent Repairability: Allows direct solder-through for field repairs and modifications
• Delivers superior long-term dielectric protection in harsh humid and corrosive environments
Application Note: Substrates should be thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to coating. Heat acceleration (e.g., 60°C) can be used after allowing the solvent to flash off.
