DOWSIL™ 736 Heat Resistant Sealant 17.7 KG
Product Overview
DOWSIL™ 736 Heat Resistant Sealant is a 1-part, non-slump RTV silicone sealant engineered for high-temperature sealing and bonding applications. Curing at room temperature upon exposure to atmospheric moisture, it forms a tough, flexible silicone rubber layer capable of resisting continuous temperatures up to +260°C (+500°F) and intermittent peaks up to +315°C (+600°F). Packaged in a 17.7 KG pail for automated industrial dispensing, it delivers excellent unprimed adhesion to glass, metals, ceramics, and engineering plastics.
Key Features and Benefits
• High-Temperature Resistance: Performs continuously from -65°C to +260°C with short-term resistance up to +315°C. • Industrial 17.7 KG Pail: Designed for seamless integration with automated follower-plate dispensing pumps. • Non-Slump Paste: Easily applied to vertical or overhead joints without sagging or slumping. • FDA Compliance: Complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 for indirect food contact applications. • Unprimed Adhesion: Strong adhesion to glass, metals, ceramics, and rigid engineering substrates. • Weather and Thermal Cycling Resistance: Maintains elastic bond integrity under UV, moisture, and thermal shocks.
Technical Specifications
• Color: Red • Packaging / Net Weight: Pail / 17.7 KG • Cure System: Acetoxy (RTV) • Skin-Over Time (@ 23°C, 50% RH): ~10-15 Minutes • Tensile Strength: ~2.4 MPa • Elongation at Break: 600% • Hardness (Shore A): ~26 • Service Temperature Range: -65°C to +260°C (-85°F to +500°F), peaks to +315°C (+600°F)
Applications
• Automated sealing and bonding of industrial ovens, drying equipment, and oven door glass. • Chimney flues, heating elements, boiler belts, and thermal ducting connections. • Commercial food processing equipment and kitchen appliance manufacturing lines. • Formed-in-place gaskets (FIPG) and sealing high-heat automotive/industrial joints.
Usage Note: Ensure all substrate surfaces are clean, dry, and free from oil or grease prior to application. The 17.7 KG pail is designed for use with pneumatic follower-plate dispensing pumps. Ensure adequate ventilation during moisture cure.
